About my Book
When I decided to conduct comprehensive research on various aspects of violence based on religious grounds, my first priority was to explore the reasons, causes and factors behind Muslim youth joining the Islamic militant organizations against the superpowers. During this research, I discovered numerous reasons, causes and factors that rapidly drive the Muslim youth towards militancy.
However, during this research, I realized that Islamic militants face not only popularity among the masses but also ideological differences, prejudices and severe disagreements based on religious grounds. This was a surprising revelation for me because the Muslim world is generally perceived as an unconditional supporter of the Islamic militants. Since this had now become a priority topic for me, I set aside my initial topic and focused all my research on this subject.
The objections and differences against Islamic militants are fascinating and surprising. This is a unique and rare topic on which perhaps no one had thought to research before. After investigating this subject, I identified more than one hundred objections and differences, thirty of
which I have detailed in this book.
Publishing Story of the book
When I began writing about Islamic militancy and contemporary warfare, I thought I would publish this book in my national language in my own country. However, when a friend reviewed my manuscript, he advised me that since the book’s topic is related to a global issue, it should be translated into English and published internationally. Although this idea opened up new possibilities for me, turning it into reality was a significant challenge. After much difficulty, I found a good translator.
After the translation process, I sent the manuscript to many publishing companies worldwide, but none showed interest. Although this initially discouraged me, I was confident that my writing was groundbreaking research on an important warfare topic and would eventually find its place and recognition. Finally, fate led me to the Olympia Publishers UK, who not only appreciated my work but also offered a generous publishing agreement.
I give credit for bringing the book to the point of potential publication to its translator, Ms. Iqra Riaz Ud Din, while the credit for recognizing its significance and deeming it publishable goes to Olympia Publishers themselves. Other publishing companies failed to see its merit. The decision of publication by Olympia publishers affirms that this book is worthy.
Why did I start researching on Islamic militancy and terrorism?
After completing my master’s in history, I was working on a project related to Punjabi literature when the terrorist attack on Army Public School (APS) changed my perspective and my inclinations. In this tragic attack, five terrorists of TTP brutally killed 144 people, including 132 students. Following this heartbreaking event, I decided to conduct an extensive, comprehensive and thorough research on terrorism, Islamic militancy and various aspects of contemporary warfare. Consequently, during this long-term research, I selected various topics, one of which has been published in the form of a book.
What are my views on research?
For several decades, the conflict between Islamic militants and superpowers has claimed the lives of millions, yet neither side is willing to show flexibility. Each side wants the complete eradication of its opponent, implying that in the future, more millions of people shed in blood. Although this is a very disheartening thought, the purpose of my research on warfare is to analyze the psychology, beliefs, ambitions, objectives, challenges and trends of both sides and present them to the public so that future generations can be guided by this research to pave the way for a more peaceful world.
Why do I want to expand and elevate my research capabilities?
If you have something important to tell people, you must not remain silent. If you have something important to show people, you will definitely see to it. This is the simple answer to a simple question. This world is full of countless talented people, and everyone plays their part in due course. This is the fundamental philosophy of the development and transformation of this world. Analyzing and writing about the conflict and struggle between Islamic militants and superpowers seems to me an easy and interesting task that encourages me to conduct furtherresearch on this subject. I want to play a constructive role in this research field so that future generations can benefit from it and make the world a better place for peace.
